Sandra Pösinger is not just a true baker and pastry rocker, but a real power woman who pursues her baking dreams with full passion. After completing secondary school in 2014, she immediately embarked on an apprenticeship as a baker. She rocked the vocational school in Bad Gleichenberg. And what can we say? During her apprenticeship, she clinched the second place in the regional competition. Then it was off to the national apprenticeship competition, where she made it to the podium as the third-place winner. Freshly baked bronze medalist among bakery apprentices! And her final exam? Naturally, with honors.

When it comes to baking cakes and sweet treats, Sandra is in her element. Her creative flair truly blossoms in the pastry kitchen. Originally, Sandra wanted to become a pastry chef, but as life would have it, things turned out differently. She first found herself in the bakery. And now? She prefers being a baker to being a pastry chef, and she’s become indispensable at the Gaulhofer bakery in Weiz.

In this bakery, Sandra sometimes encounters small mishaps, but they always end with a laugh. For example, she once forgot to add flour when mixing cinnamon cake. Instead, she mixed water and yeast and simply started the machine. It sounded weird, but they quickly noticed when the water started splashing.

And when she’s not baking? Then Sandra heads out into nature for hiking or to the water for fishing. With her boyfriend, she enjoys spending whole weekends at the fishpond, soaking in the tranquility.

But her heart doesn’t just beat for baking; it also beats for the Perchtenverein Mitterdorf/Raab, where she’ll be active as a “witch.” Traditions, a sense of home, family, and friends are very dear to Sandra and provide her with important balance. At home, she conjures up pastries and desserts in various forms. Her yogurt quark cake with fruit mirror is her signature dessert, which friends and family love to indulge in. Fun fact: Sandra has a real phobia of quark.

What she’s not so fond of: Esterhazy slices. Instead, she loves shaping and decorating marzipan figures. With love and passion, she creates little lucky charms out of marzipan, whether it’s sweet pigs and toadstools for New Year’s Eve or adorable bunnies for Easter.

At Gaulhofer bakery in Weiz, she has not only found her place but also a team that supports her. Every night, she enjoys her job and creates delicacies that win over the hearts of customers. As the Steirerkraft Recipes Rocker 2024, Sandra aims to inspire and delight with her baking talent.
