  • 4 steaks from Mangalitza pork
  • Salt (optionally pumpkin seed salt or sea salt), pepper

Potatoes with Pumpkin Seed Crumble

  • 4 potatoes (pre-cooked)
  • 4 tbsp Styrian pumpkin seeds, coarsely chopped
  • Salt or sea salt, pepper

Steirerkraft on fire!

Recently, we had the pleasure of spending a very special day at Genussgut Krispel. Right in the heart of the beautiful Southeast Styria and surrounded by exquisite culinary delights, we focused this time on the open grill in the garden. This resulted in delicious Mangalitza steaks with fine side dishes — all elevated by our Steirerkraft products, which gave the dishes their perfect finishing touch. Here’s the recipe so you can grill it yourself.

 

 

  • Lightly grease the grill with some oil. A simple way to do this is to dip a bunch of rosemary sprigs into garlic oil and use them to brush the grill. Place the steaks on the hot grill and sear them on both sides until they reach your desired doneness. Brush the steaks occasionally with the oil while grilling. Finally, season generously with sea salt and pepper.
  • Meanwhile, cut the corn on the cob into 5 cm (2-inch) pieces and place them on the grill along with the vegetables. Grill everything, turning regularly, until nicely charred on all sides.
  • Cut the cooked potatoes (with skin) into large wedges and grill them on all sides. While grilling, sprinkle them with the chopped pumpkin seeds, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Finally, arrange everything attractively on the plate, drizzle the grilled potatoes generously with pumpkin seed oil, and serve.
