Jara Trolp is no ordinary young chef – she is a real talent with bite, a clear vision and a good dose of passion. Her journey into the world of gastronomy did not begin by chance, but out of deep conviction. Good food has always played an important role in her family – where people cooked, talked, laughed and savoured. And it was there that Jara’s enthusiasm for cooking was born: not as a duty, but as a creative playground and an expression of genuine joie de vivre.
It was clear to her from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career where pleasure is created. That’s why the native Styrian decided to enrol at the Bad Gleichenberg tourism school straight after secondary school – a step that put her passion on a professional footing. Today, she is in her third year there, honing her skills day by day, learning new techniques and being inspired by experienced teachers, exciting projects and working with fresh ingredients every day.
Jara thinks, feels and brings her very own signature to the table – not just in her cooking, but in everything she does. She tries things out, asks questions and thinks outside the box. In doing so, she combines craftsmanship with a feel for trends without forgetting her roots. It is precisely this mixture of down-to-earthness and curiosity that makes her so special – and makes her dishes appear lively, honest and surprising.
Jara also shows what she is made of in competitions: she came 4th in the prestigious Young Talents Cup and 2nd in the Rindfleischkaiser – two successes she can be justifiably proud of. For her, these are not just honours, but real milestones on her journey: they show that hard work, passion and the courage to develop further are rewarded – with experience, self-confidence and a clear goal in mind.

Jara’s kitchen is a place of memories, encounters – and real flavour. Her dishes tell stories: from shared moments with her family, from the first recipe she developed herself to new flavours she discovers while travelling or at school. She likes to combine familiar flavours with fresh ideas – true to the motto: regionally rooted, creatively interpreted.
Whether it’s a pastry, a main course or a little surprise – Jara cooks intuitively, with curiosity and always with a focus on quality and flavour. She draws inspiration from social media, conversations with friends or spontaneous ideas while rummaging in the store cupboard. For her, cooking is a process in which you never stop learning – and that’s exactly what she loves about it: it remains exciting, lively and open to new things.
A particular highlight in her kitchen is the Styrian pumpkin seed oil from Steirerkraft. For Jara, it is not just an ingredient, but a piece of home – with a nutty aroma, unmistakable flavour and endless applications.
